Enma
Daio (Yama)
is the king of Rei kai. His anger once caused earthquakes and
volcanic eruptions in Ningenkai. His build often intimidates and
scares those below him. His plan is to eradicate the 3 beings in
Ningenkai that possesses youkai blood (Yusuke, Hiei and Kurama)
and that's why Yusuke was to be killed by the elite forces of Rei
kai and the other two got invitations to Makai.

Jorju Saotome
(George)
is the most faithful out of Koenma's servants who likes to tag along with his
activities. He often gets cheated by the Rei kai Prince when it
comes to food. At the tournaments, he likes to display his talent in
singing and once managed to charm the microphone away from Koto.
Like Koenma, he is also afraid of Enma Daio.

|
They
can be considered as the Rei kai's Army with Class A ki. Some of
the members of this group are humans and live in Ningenkai. 9 of
them made their appearance in the series. They
are sent to kill Yusuke and to also close the mouth of the
portal. Since the youkai gene might bring out Yusuke's evil
personality, Enma found it best to kill him.

Sayaka (Tina)
is sent by Rei kai to investigate Yusuke and his life back when he
first died. She tried to boggle Yusuke's mind about his wanting to
return to Ningenkai and does not hesitate in voicing out her
opinions. She knew a lot about souls like Yusuke and it was she who
advised Yusuke to throw the egg.

ANKOKU
BUJUTSUKAI
|
|
|
Koto
(Alma).
The cat-like announcer of the Ankoku Bujutsukai made her second
appearance at the Makai Tournament. She can be considered as brave
because even if the match is heating up, she stays on her post and
does her job to her best. She is also slightly attracted to the to
the drunkard Chuu at the series.
|
|
Juri
(Julie/Jurie).
She is the exact opposite of Koto. Juri is afraid on a lot of things
and that included tough, strong participants fighting in the
tournament. While covering the match against Uraotogi Team, she
considered backing out of her job and resigning. However, she
managed to do her duties without running away for her dear life.

|
|
|
Puu
isYusuke's alter-ego and he emerged from an egg given to him by
Koenma. He became a loyal friend to Keiko, who often takes care of
Puu most of the time for Yusuke hated him tagging along with his
plans. Puu also loved sitting on Yusuke's head. When his youkai
gene prompted his youkai roots, Puu evolved into a
phoenix.

SENSUI
SAGA
|
|
Maroto/Murota
Shigeru is
a former boxer and is one of the humans whose rei ki was awakened
when the portal opened. He can read the heart of a human and he
was copied by Yanagi when Yusuke defeated him with a one
right-hand punch. He was later eaten by Gurume, much to the gang's
disgust.

|
Kido Asato is
one of the humans who discovered his rei ki when the portal
connecting Makai to Ningenkai opened. His ability is to paralyze the
owner of the shadow that he was stepping into. He challenged Yusuke
in a fight and he ended up getting kidnapped. The truth is he was
sent by Genkai to challenge the Rei kai Tantei.

Kaitou
Yuu is also among the humans who's rei ki was awakened. He is a
classmate of Kurama from Meiou High and was the second best after
Kurama. He challenged him into a word game and lost when Kurama
outwitted him. He's also sent by Genkai to test the others
(Yusuke, Hiei, Kurama and Kuwabara). |

Yanagisawa Mitsunari (Yanagi).
You can say that he is a shape shifter with his ability to take
complete identity to whoever he decides to imitate. Yanagi displayed
this ability when they were staking out the Mushiyori City for
Sensui. Yanagi also helped defeat Kamiya. Again, he was
with Kido and Kaitou who were sent by Genkai.

Kuroko
Satou
(Mariko
Sanada). A former Rei kai
tantei, Yusuke approached her for answers regarding his youkai
blood. There, he found out that Enma-sama has ordered Yusuke's
death and even ordered the former tanteis like Mariko to kill him
because of his youkai blood. Mariko has two children and she found
it best to protect them at all times.

Kaize and Habuki
Sanada are Mariko's children and they are 9 and 8 years old
respectively. They inherited Mariko's ki and used it to
kill and protect their home from youkais that are after their
mother's life. They disliked their real surname, Sato and uses their
mother's maiden name instead.

|
|
|
MAKAI
TOURNAMENT
|
|
|
Kitakami
made his first appearance as a Class D youkai in Mariko's home and
challenged Yusuke in a fight. He is really a Class S youkai and
was using a gadget that will lower his ki to D, allowing him a
safe entrance to Ningenkai from Makai. His body is totally
flexible and can be stretched almost infinitely.

Tsume
(Natsumi)
is one of Raizen's friends and she came along with the others to
Raizen's funeral. She has a twin brother whose name is Hugo and her
beauty attracted Chuu, which made Koto jealous. He kept on chasing
her, although she showed no sign of interest towards him. Most of
the time, she kept her eyes focused on the ongoing matches. She lost to Mukuro
in the semi-finals.

|
Hugo as
said earlier is Tsume's twin and they are both Raizen's
friends. He once concealed his true ki to Touya which caused his
victory.
|
|
Enki. After
the tough matches at the tournament, Enki emerged as the winner,
therefore ruling Makai for three years. His plans were to live
harmoniously with the humans and make sure that Makai will be
peaceful. He also decided to not eat humans and organized a group to
send trapped humans in Makai back to Ningenkai.
|
|
|
Koko
is Enki's wife but she really sought after Raizen, who didn't show
any speck of interest towards her direction. Figuring that she
won't get Raizen, she deided to settle with Enki, who later became
the ruler of Makai. She talks real loud and likes to drink wine.
at Raizen's grave, she cried a lot, proving that they have a
special friendship going on between them.

Sounka
fought against Jin at the semi-finals and with his strength, he
defeated Jin. He has the ability to soar in the air that's close to
flyring and does great in avoiding Jin's powerful blow. He's also
good at doing physical blows towards his opponent. Like the others,
he is also Raizen's friend and what he really wanted was to defeat
Yusuke.

Shuu
is
also Raizen's friend and came with the others for a visit on
Raizen's grave. Together with the rest of their friends, they
emitted a large amount of ki that reached Gandara, Yomi's city.
Yoda, Yomi's advisor, calculated their ki and it exploded because
even the calculator can't compute their ki. Each of them is
believed to have the same amount of ki as Yomi.

Kiren (Kirim)
is
considered to be the second strongest in Mukuro's group after her.
She seems to trust him a lot, and he stands as her right-hand man.
When the tournament is over, he, along with Hiei and other
participants, help weed Makai for trapped humans who accidentally
made their way to their world.
|
|
|
|
Yoda
always holds a
calculator to estimate the ki of each of their participants at the
tournament. He keeps track of every vital information that comes
through Gandara. Yoda sat beside Koto in the tournament and acted
as a spectator as well as an expert that can be asked trivial
questions.
|
|
Sachi
is
the second-strongest in Yomi's group and he claims to hold the title
for 500 years. Kurama predicted that he will lose his seat after 6
months and this angered him. His sly and manipulative manner caused
him to underestimate Kurama and it lead to his death. Kurama then
took his position and he became Yomi's right-hand man.

Sasaya
stole
Rinko's heart when she approached him after a victory. After
flirting with him for a few moments, Rinko fell for her spell.
She's not really subtle about what she says and she knew for a
fact that she is beautiful. She loved Rinko's attention at
first but when it started to bug her, she started running away
from him.
