Kuwabara's Friendships:
Kuwabara is the clown in the series. Despite his clown-like antics, he can take things seriously and can actually be a good friend. He can be serious when it's needed, and keeps his word. He loves animals, and has a soft side for cats. He owns one, Ikitchi (see above picture), and almost got into a fistfight for him.

His archrival is Yusuke Urameshi, the student that made him take the second place in terms of strength. Like Yusuke, he often gets into fights, if not for protecting the women, it's for his strong sense of doing what's right. They were enemies, at first, but when Yusuke started working for Rei kai, they immediately become friends.

Rare Ability:
He is considered to be an ordinary human being, but he can feel the spirits that are lurking around him. He gets a cold feeling, meaning, ghosts are just nearby. His instincts and gut feels are always accurate, and the team learned to trust him for that.

Kuwabara showed his ability to talk to other people using his mind on one of their missions. He conversed with Yukina, Hiei's sister. 

His own sister, Shiuru Kuwabara, who thinks of him as a weakling, also has that ability. When Yusuke and Botan came over to his place to watch the video tape of Yusuke's mission, Shizuru can also see and hear what it said. The video wasn't supposed to be seen by ordinary humans, but Shizuru proved that she, too, has some capabilities like her brother.

Kuwabara and Hiei:
If there's one thing Kuwabara hates, it's being him regarded as a weakling. Hiei also considers him one, and they always end up bickering over things. If there's one thing Kuwabara can't stand, it's the "obnoxious runt". Obnoxious as Hiei may seem, he and Kurama ends up training him for the Ankoku Bujutsukai.

Techniques:
- the ones enclosed in the parenthesis ( ) are the literal translations of the Japanese terms.

• Rei Kan - it is Kuwabara's capability to feel spirits and ghosts that are lurking around. This was mentioned above.

• Rei Ken (Spiritual Sword) - his ki is gathered on his bare hands, and a sword materializes on his command. This can stretch as far as he wants depending on how strong he is.

• Jigen Tou (Dinensional Sword) - this appeared in the Sensui Saga, and Kuwabara displays his ability to destroy or break into dimensions.

• Tameshi No Ken ( Sword Of Trial ) - this is another one of Kuwabara' swords. This powerful sword depends on the inner strength of it's holder and will leave the holder exhausted after use. He used it to defeat Toguro Ani at the Ankoku Bujutsukai (Black Martial Arts Tournament),  but later on, he learned that he didn't completely destroy him.
