His Real Identity:
Youko Kurama is also Shuichi Minamino.
This five-tailed demon fox was shot by hunters, and in order to escape,
he turned himself into a spirit, and traveled to Ningenkai. There, he
possessed the fetus in a human's body, and when she gave birth, she
named him Shuichi Minamino.
She took care of him, and
loved him, unaware that he was possessed when he was still inside her.
The original plan of the youko was to stay inside the ningen's body for
10 years, but 15 years has passed, and he hasn't made a move to leave.
His mother's kindness and love made him love her so much, he couldn't
just leave.
Appearances:
He made his first appearance at the Ankoku Bujutsukai with the help from
his opponent's spell. The spell was to turn someone to his original
state, therefore, it was supposed to turn Shuichi Minamino to his
toddler form.
Since Minamino isn't really
human, he went back to his youko form.
Kurama vs. Shuuichi:
As a Youko, he was more ruthless. He makes use of Makai plants, and no
longer uses the Rose Whip.
Kurama's Past:
He had a friend, and his name was Kuronue. He appeared at the Yuyu
Hakusho Movie. He accompanies Kurama every time he steals something.
While making their escape, Kuronue's necklace fell into a deep hole. He
went back to retrieve it, and was attacked by razor sharp bamboos.
Kurama, having no choice about the situation set off to save his own
life. Later on, he mourned for the death of his friend.
