Her name literally means
buttons, but according to some sites, all Rei kai ferry girls are named
after flowers. Botan stands for peonies. Always seen in her pink kimono,
Botan is easily referred as Genkai is well-known for her
being a Rei ki master. She commonly appeared in the series Keiko is Yusuke's childhood
friend and sweetheart, although they don't seem like one. Yusuke's feeling
for Keiko aren't really clear at the beginning. They are considered to be
best friends. Yusuke feels he has to protect Keiko from perverts As Kuwabara's eldest sibling
(and the only one for that matter), Shizuru
sees to it that he Yukina is Hiei's sister, and
she is an ice maiden from Koorime. She set off in search of her brother,

She
is the drunkard mother of Yusuke, who had him at a very young age. Her
being drunk must have affected Yusuke some way, that's why he ends up
being branded as a juvenile delinquent. When he died, Atsuko sobbed and
mourned nonstop. She also turned to alcohol for relief. Keiko, Yusuke's
childhood friend, gets along well with her. When they both found out that
Yusuke isn't really dead, an that his heart is still beating, Yusuke
realized how much his mother wanted him to come back.
bubble-headed (light-headed). She is the loyal ferry girl of Koenma Daioh,
and her duty is to bring the souls of those who passed away to Rei kai.
She met Yusuke the moment his eyes popped open after the crash. He hasn't
realized that he was dead, and it was Botan's duty to tell him that. Also,
she accompanies him to some of his missions, and she gives him little
gadgets that would help him during the mission. She often appears in Sara
Yashiki High, Yusuke's high school, in a uniform so she wouldn't stand
out. Botan is said to be a spirit, and that make her invisible to the
human eye. When Keiko saw them together, she mistook her as Yusuke's
girlfriend, and that was easily cleared up. Kuwabara also fell for Botan,
but he later focused his attention on an equally pretty girl.

like Yusuke and the others do. Genkai possesses strong powers, and when
she uses it, her body becomes young again, like the days she spent with

himself stronger. Together, they joined the Ankoku Bujutsukai and emerged
as champions. When they met again at the tournament, Toguro killed her
right in front of Yusuke, right after she transferred her powers to
Yusuke. Her death was something Yusuke decided to take avenge of during
his battle with Toguro Ototo.

even though Yusuke is helpless as a spirit, there are some people who
helped Keiko when she was in trouble. If there's one thing Yusuke fears
about Keiko, it's her jaw-breaking slaps. Her hands always seem to find
their way on Yusuke's (and any other pervert's) face. In return, only
Yusuke can do things to Keiko nobody else can. He makes cracks about
Keiko's weight (which really irritates her) an touches her in an innocent
manner, though it's obvious that he's being a pervert already. She doesn't
let him get away with it, though. Despite their bickering, Keiko actually
cares for Yusuke very much, and she took care of his body when he died.
When somebody set off a bomb at their apartment, it was Keiko who dashed
inside and rescued Yusuke, sacrificing her long, brown hair. It ended up
getting burned, leaving Keiko with a shorter (but decent) hairstyle. Keiko
also hates having things kept from her, and she can get very persuasive
about discovering what it is.

All she really wanted
was for him to finish school and have a
good future. She looks like Atsuko, and her only vice is cigarettes. She
has the habit of smoking one and she appears at the series with it most of
the time. Like her brother, she also has Rei kan and can sense danger when
it is nearby. Together with Keiko and Yukina, they went to the Ankoku
Bujutsukai to watch her brother. While she was busy criticizing her brother's
moves (since he was a weakling in her opinion), Yukina continues to cheer
him on. This gives Kuwabara some strength and inspires him to do better.
and that made the businessman want her. He always made her cry, but as
time goes by, she gets tougher and starts to refuse crying. She emits a
special aura that turns her surroundings to ice, and it is her form of
protecting herself. She first talked to Kuwabara thru telepathy. Later on,
they met, and it was Yukina who healed his wounds. She had
also met Hiei, where he was beating up that businessman who made his
sister suffer. Yukina persuaded him to spare the businessman's life, and
it was a good thing she did, otherwise, Yusuke will be forced to take Hiei
back in Makai. When she asked him who he was, Hiei simply said that he was
one of Yusuke and Kuwabara. Hiei didn't want her to know that he is her
brother, because she'll be sad knowing her long-lost brother is being
punished by Rei kai for the crimes he has committed in the past. He has a
point, the others realized, so they never told Yukina who he really is.
But still, Hiei continues to watch her from afar, and once rescued her
when the entire arena at the Ankoku Bujutsukai collapsed. Only Kuwabara
doesn't know the relationship of Hiei and Yukina.
