EPISODE EIGHT: THE SWORD OF DARKNESS

Feeling triumphant on his successful recovery of the two Rei kai treausres, Yusuke went over them with Botan. Botan reminded him that the third youkai, Hiei, will be tougher than the first two. They broke off their discussion when thy noticed Keiko looking for Yusuke. Seeing them together made her jealous, and she walked away, with Yusuke trailing with apologies. what they didn't know was Hiei was watching them, and it didn't take him a lot of time to notice that Keiko is very special for Yusuke. 

On her way home, Hiei slashed her with the Sword of Darkness, taking her in his control. Yusuke's watch sounded the alarm—that a youkai is nearby—and he immediately headed for that site, with Botan following him. There, she told him that Keiko was taken hostage and that he must be very careful with Hiei. Botan found out all of this because Hiei himself told her so. 

They found Hiei in Warehouse no. 1. The people they met there were under his control, and Yusuke had to fight the urge to attack them for they are humans. When he met Hiei, Botan told him to watch out because he has a sixth sense or the third eye (jagan). They made a deal; in exchange for Keiko's safety he will give the two treasures to Hiei. They agreed and Yusuke got Keiko. His plan now was to take the treasures away from Hiei, but then, he discovered that Hiei implanted a third eye on Keiko's forehead, still having her under his control. The sword is full of poison that the person who was injured because of it will inherit the poison and will grow a third eye. When this fully opens, nothing can be done. Botan tried to keep this closed by contributing a lot of her ki until Yusuke gets an antidote, found on the handle of the sword. Fighting Hiei, Yusuke thought he has a lot of advantage until Hiei changed into his youkai form—a green youkai with eyes on his body.

Just when things seem to be on Hiei's favor, Shuuichi came, and struck Hiei's third eye, blinding him and weakening his ki for a moment. He did this as his way of returning Yusuke's favor, back when he needed help. There, Yusuke felt a surge of energy come into him which threatened Hiei. Then, he spotted the Mirror of Utterdark situated at Hiei's back and there, he took the risk of firing his rei gan for the day, hoping that Hiei will be struck. He wasn't, until the mirror reflected the ki and hit Hiei on his back. He collapsed, returning to his original color. Yusuke immediately allowed Keiko to take in a few droplets of antidote to make her forehead return to normal and that's when everyone found out that Yusuke was just a guy full of luck. I he hadn't seen the mirror, and if his shot didn't hit the mirror, they would have been dead by now and Hiei had taken control of the three worlds.

The next day, Yusuke and Botan were talking about the past mission, where Yusuke learned that Koenma was punished. The sword got rusty and the mirror cracked, and so, Enma Daioh found out what happened anyway. Then, Keiko saw them again, and Yusuke ran off to explain about Botan.
