EPISODE TWENTY-EIGHT: THE TERRIBLE RINKU

The tournament is officially open. Koto, the announcer, had declared it in front of a cheering audience. On the top of the arena, where the businessmen, also judges, had resided, they talked about the naivety of the contestants, who for them, doesn't know what they're getting themselves into. For them, the entire tournament is all for money.

Koto started by calling the first team; the Ryokoyuukai Team entered the arena and their manager bragged to Sakyo that even if the group isn't yet famous, they can defeat the Urameshi and Toguro Team. Next, the Urameshi Team entered and walked into the middle of the arena, with Yusuke's sleeping form draped across Kuwabara's shoulders. The audience booed the team, especially Kurama and Hiei and Kurama said that it's because they work for Koenma of Rei kai.

Outside the arena, Botan, Keiko and Shizuru waited outside for Koenma. Keiko pointed out to Botan that she has every right to know about Yusuke's activities, because these had gotten her into trouble before. Botan silently admired Keiko's willpower and considered her a really brave lady.

In the crowd, Koenma walked to the entrance with Jorju tailing on his side. A ticket seller who was selling his tickets were standing nearby and Koenma remembered Yusuke and Kuwabara's reactions to his physical looks. It took some rearranging and when the ticket seller noticed him, he offered 10 billion for a ticket inside. Koenma, in his teenage form, told the seller that he has his ticket. The ticket seller recognized him and backed off a little when he saw Jorju hovering behind his back. When Koenma met up with Botan and the others, the ticket seller nosily inquired if they are his girlfriends, which he ignored and said that they are friends and relatives. He gave Botan a look and said that she couldn't keep a secret and they all set off to go inside the collesium.

Rinku immediately noticed that the Yusuke was still fast asleep and guessed that he was taking their opponents very lightly. Yusuke was again talking in his sleep and had seconded Kurama's idea of making Kuwabara their team leader for now. Kuwabara gladly took the responsibility and approached Zeru, who told him to make sure that he gets hurt during the fight. Kuwabara shot back a remark and Zeru decided to warm the match up. He suddenly burst into flames, and then he directed the flames to encircle the opposing team before allowing it to crawl to the audience. Koto commented on the fire and said that it's a sign of a promising fight. She then proceeded to telling them that the teams will decide on how to do the fight and that the team with the most number of players would win. She also warned that if not up by the count of then, the match ends.

Rinko volunteered to go first and Kuwabara decided to tackle him. Yusuke, still asleep, had offered his encouragement. When Rinku saw who he would be fighting with, he was dismayed to discover that he was matched up with the weakest in the group. A loud buzzer told them that the fight has begun and Rinku immediately did a series of acrobats so quickly to confuse Kuwabara. It must have worked because when Rinku suddenly kicked Kuwabara on his temple, Kuwabara was narrowly missed, and therefore, he kept his eye on his opponents movements carefully. Rinku still thought he wasn't visible to Kuwabara's eyes and when he attacked, Kuwabara had seen it on the corner of his eye and anticipated his move. Rinku was sent hurling to the ground with one of  Kuwabara's punches. He proceeded to do a lot more and Hiei urged him to finish the fight when he saw that Rinku could barely stand up from pain. When Kuwabara made his final blow, he was surprised that Rinku had managed to evade it and had stood up.

Staring at Rinku, he saw a serpent figure resembling the kid he was looking down on a few moments ago. Kuwabara said that he now knew Rinku's style of fighting, but Rinku told him that he's modifying his style so he wouldn't be predictable. To Kuwabara's surprise, and to Zeru's as well, Rinku took out eight yoyos, each sandwiched between his fingers. Zeru, from the sidelines, said that he had rarely seen Rinku fight with a weapon and though not weak, physical assault isn't really good enough for the kid. Kuwabara also took out his weapon, the rei kan, and two swords appeared on his hands. Rinku's smirk told him what he thought of his weapon, but Kuwabara just stared at the kid to see what he would do.

Rinku started again with a yoyo technique called walking the dog. The eight yoyos headed straight to Kuwabara and he frantically dug out the cement blocks of the arena to protect himself from the mad yoyos. It didn't work, because the yoyos rolled passed it and finally grinded in Kuwabara's flesh. Rinku was right. The rei ken wasn't helping Kuwabara, especially when he tied him up with the yoyos. Two on each wrists and the other four on the ankles.  Rinku lifted a shocked Kuwabara in the air and after letting him up, he pulled the strings down, taking Kuwabara with it.

Rinku is now playing with Kuwabara's life, and Yusuke is still fast asleep, who doesn't have any idea what's happening. What will be the outcome of this match?
