EPISODE TWENTY: THE BATTLE OF STRENGTHS

Knowing that his shoes served the purpose, Yusuke decided that it would be smarter for him to defend himself from Suzaku's assault. Still, since he knew he couldn't succeed in the battle by doing just that, Yusuke began punching Suzaku, which he locked with one arm. The other hand was clutching the whistle. Yusuke just punched Suzaku continuously until he managed to knock the whistle off his hand! There was a mad scramble to get it, but Suzaku snagged it first.

Because he had seen Yusuke's determination to get the whistle away from him, Suzaku wondered out loud just how much Keiko meant to Yusuke to make him risk everything just to get it away from his clutches. He had noticed that Keiko appeared to be Yusuke's inspiration, and so, before Yusuke could get the chance to finish him off, he decided to use his secret technique.

Meanwhile, in Sara Yashiki High, Botan and Keiko are running for their lives so as not to be killed by the possessed faculty members of the school. They made a mad dash to a small empty room and locked the door. Their assailants knocked furiously, demanding that they, too, be let in. Of course, there's just no way they'd allow that.

Back at the castle, Suzaku revealed his technique: the Seven Suzakus. Yusuke and Rei kai watched in awe as Suzaku divided himself to seven bodies and declare that each of them are real. Koenma and Jorju were shocked and Koenma strongly wished for Hiei and the others to come help Yusuke.

The six Suzakus (the seventh was the original Suzaku) raised their electric bows and fired their electric arrows at Yusuke. Yusuke managed to dodge all but one, and he collapsed to the ground in shock and pain. Suzaku declared  the fight over when he saw Yusuke's distraught expression. Two of the Suzakus dragged Yusuke to him (the original Suzaku) and sent another bolt of electricity towards Yusuke. All Yusuke could think of is Keiko.

At school, the glass of the door was opened and seconds later, the door followed. Yusuke saw that their enemies had entered the room where Keiko and Botan are hiding and he couldn't help yelling their names out. Muruge commented that Keiko will die and Yusuke will soon to follow her.

Koenma saw the status of things from Rei kai and he couldn't believe that Yusuke is about to lose. He knew that if Yusuke failed on this mission, Suzaku would reign over Ningenkai and evil would conquer over the world. Viewing Koema's distress first hand, Jorju couldn't help saying that when that happens, Enma Daio would surely punish his son and remove him from his current position. Koenma then prayed harder for pleasant results on Yusuke's case.

At the castle, Hiei, Kurama and Kuwabara are busy eliminating the zombies that are blocking their way. Kuwabara frantically searched for another entrance to the castle's tower. His eyes brightened when he saw a window at the tower and he quickly attempted to get there with his Rei ken. However, his attempt failed and his face smacked against the wall of the tower. When he found out that the entryway was open, he followed Hiei and Kurama there, and together, they rushed to a long flight of stairs where they met more zombies. Again, the zombies kept them busy so their help for Yusuke was delayed.

In Suzaku's point of view, Yusuke's endeavors to rescue Ningenkai and Keiko were just futile attempts, and that he would not succeed. As he electrocuted Yusuke, he smugly declared that Ningenkai is his. The pain caused by Suzaku brought tears to his eyes until he got unconscious. Thoughts quickly ran through his head. He first remembered Keiko, then, he wondered if he still was alive. He suddenly heard Genkai's voice, and realized that he's still breathing.

The possessed school faculty had entered the room here Keiko and Botan were hiding and immediately noticed a yellow girl's handkerchief between the only cabinet's door, and they immediately attacked the cabinet to ruins. When they were done, they checked to see their victims' bodies and from behind them (obscured by a curtain), Keiko and Botan emerged. They defended themselves from their enemies' fury and hurried away from them.

Suzaku saw all this and was not pleased. Yusuke's thoughts traveled to the days when he was having his training with Genkai. He remembered having to point his index finger on the tip of a pointed cone and concentrate on staying upright. His feet were in the air in a back stand position, and he was angry at Genkai and wanted to quit training to go home. He provoked Genkai by saying that he can easily defeat her, which his master didn't appreciate. With this, Genkai thought him a lesson that proved to be useful in his current mission. He took Yusuke on his offer and easily sent him sprawling on the floor of her dojo (martial art school). Genkai calmly said that Yusuke still has energy left (that's why he was able to get angry) and that he's not using his hundred percent on the training. She plaintively said when a person is angry during a fight, he's distracted and can be defeated easily, as seen by what happened to him. She emphasized one important thing: Never give up.

Her words rang in Yusuke's ears. He then thought of Keiko, and Genkai pointed out that she's still alive. This brought hope on Yusuke and the another image of his training came back to him. Genkai said, "Never give up. You will fight until the very last moment. Your determination and perseverance are the key factors in succeeding in a challenge...You have to understand this, Yusuke, to get the full meaning of your training...."

This brought Yusuke's strength back. He knew full well that he is determined to get something and to obtain it, he must fight for it.

Suzaku was moving for the kill with a big ball of electricity when a bigger ball of ki surrounded Yusuke and threw him his clones and the other Suzakus who were holding him off their feet. Yusuke had winning and not quitting on his mind. Images of Atsuko in tears, Hiei's match with Seiruu, Atsuko, Kuwabara's match with Byako, Atsuko, Kurama's match with Genbu, Keiko's bringing him back to life, all the other things he and the others have went through to enter the castle, and finally on Keiko's kiss.

The ki Yusuke has gathered resulted to a big explosion and Suzaku was shocked that at his state, Yusuke still have a lot of energy left. Armed with his strong desire to succeed, will Yusuke defeat Suzaku and obtain the whistle?
