EPISODE FIFTEEN: GENBU - THE FIRST OF THE FOUR BEASTS

Yusuke came up with a good idea. He's familiar with Kurama and Hiei, and he knew very well that Hiei is the fastest among them. He said that if Hiei can manage to pull the lever up (the one that controlled the ceiling), then, they can escape. Yusuke will double the efforts on pushing the ceiling up for Hiei's sake. 

Hiei realized that Yusuke trusts him, and went along with his plan. When he reached the lever, he hesitated on pulling it up. The others were wondering why Hiei was taking so long, and the eyeball was convincing him to join their team. Once the eyeball turned his back on Hiei, he took out his katana (sword) and slashed it, blinding it for a moment. Then, he pushed the lever up.

They didn't count on its being booby-trapped. When he pulled i up, a boulder came rushing to crush Hiei. Luckily, with his lightning fast reflexes, Hiei was able to avoid he rock. The others were saved. Yusuke didn't waste his time expressing his gratitude on Hiei.

At Rei kai, Koenma forgot about the Rei kai busines and was busy researching on information about the four beasts. Jorju was surprised that he had sent Yusuke on a mission that even he has no knowledge of. Back at the castle, Yusuke asked Kurama (because of his background) who the four beasts are. Kurama admitted that even he has no idea who they are, except that they are ruthless. Yusuke's rei kai device rang, surprising Kuwabara. He found out from Botan that she had only killed 15 insects out of thousands. This added pressure on Yusuke's part because the only hope is to get the flute.

The four beasts were having their meeting in the shadows, and they are especially annoyed with Hiei, since he's the key to why they escaped the ceiling alive. They decided to send one of them to take care of the group. Wandering around the castle, they heard a menacing laugh and felt the ground rumble. On their right, they saw a door and they entered it.

They've entered Genbu's room. Genbu is a rock-like youkai and he suggested that all four of them should make their attacks. Kurama disagreed and announced that he will take care of Genbu. Yusuke and Kuwabara, who didn't know Kurama, were doubtful at first, but Hiei assured them that Kurama is a more vicious opponent than he is. Kurama is also smart, that's why he picked him as his partner. 

Yusuke didn't miss the fact that Genbu's tail is merging with the ground. Sensing that there are some heavy cheating going on, he yelled out a warning to Kurama, who didn't fail to notice that tiny detail. But because he didn't know where Genbu would attack, he was hit on his abdomen. After a few more attacks from Genbu, Kurama decided it was his turn. That's when the Rose Whip came out. 

Rose petals are scattered everywhere. Suddenly, the whole room smelled like roses. Now, he knew where Genbu's next attack would be: from above. He slashed Genbu into pieces until everyone thought he won the match. He didn't. Genbu was still alive. Kurama realized that Genbu can be split into pieces and rearrange himself so that he will not die. Genbu unleashed his next attack, wherein pieces of him come surging towards Kurama. He did it again, and Kurama spotted a red glowing stone. Taking it the second time he attacked, Genbu was now unable to bring himself in the proper order. Slashing the red stone into pieces, Genbu vanished.

Kurama was injured at that fight. Clutching his side, they started to climb the stairs that would lead to the second beast. They didn't know that it was already waiting for them.
