EPISODE TEN: BATTLE IN THE DARKNESS

Genkai warned whoever was afraid should back out now. Seeing everyone was willing to go on, they proceeded to the second part of the tournament. It took place inside a room without lights.

To decide who your opponent will be, they will pick the name on a jar. The first one to fight will be Kazemaru, a ninja, against Kuroda, a  wanderer. He claimed that Genkai should give her power to him even if he is just a wanderer. She assured him that whoever wins will inherit her powers, whether they're evil or not. Yusuke thought it was a bad move of Genkai but he did not say so.

The fight began. Kuwabara can see the match clearly and saw Kazemaru attack. He released a ki so much like Yusuke's. That finished Kuroda in an instant. The next fight was Sholin, a small child, against Chinpou, a stocky man that looks Mongolian. Everyone watched until Sholin emerged from the dark and started treating his wounds. That's when Yusuke heard a familiar voice from outside.

It was Botan! She came to assist Yusuke to this case. Kuwabara followed Yusuke and caught him talking to her. Thinking she was Yusuke's girlfriend, he barged on, accusing him of double crossing Keiko. Yusuke cleared his name, and Kuwabara proposed his undying love for her. Botan was saved by Genkai's cigarette, which she threw and burned a hole on Kuwabara's clothes. She demanded to know if they were still joining the tournament. Of course the said yes, and entered the room again. Realizing that they were friends of Koenma, Genkai said to herself that only one of them should win.

Kuwabara fought next. His opponent was Musashi, a samurai that uses a wooden sword. Kuwabara appeared to be having difficulty until Musashi hit his shoulder and broke his sword. Picking up the broken piece, Kuwabara knew it was a lousy thing to use as a weapon but it will have to do. Imagine his surprise when a stream of light appeared from the broken piece of sword. It's his rei ken (spirit sword). Musashi was defeated after Kuwabara's discovery.

Genkai explained that the rei ken appears whenever one unconsciously summons it, like Kuwabara did. After declaring the winner, it was Yusuke's turn to fight. He will have to defeat Kibano, a man whose body is filled with muscles, to complete his mission as a tantei.

Before he began the fight, Yusuke's arrogance pissed Genkai off, and she once again threw her cigarette, narrowly missing Yusuke by a few inches. Not letting this get to him, Yusuke faced Kibano.

He had an unfair advantage over Yusuke. Kibano wore a mask that helps him see in the dark. One swift move, and he sent Yusuke down on the floor, barely able to stand up.
