CHAPTER SIX
"You can't stay with me
here," Hiei whispered. "Maybe I'll send you to that stupid
fox..."
"You mean Kurama-san, right?"
"Hn. Whatever,"
~~~~~~
"You seem have a problem today Koenma-san," Marine noticed his
depressed spirits on his face. "You can tell me anything...I'm you're
wife on the blue moon..."
Koenma was a bit shocked when heard Marine's voice. "I know," he
mouthed sadly. "But please don't be angry when I tell you
that..."
"You don't love me..." she completed as she sat on a beanbag
chair on Koenma's room.
"How did you know?"
"If I can feel the large bodies of ocean I can hear your ripped heart
too," she firmly explained. "I knew it all long before I enter
this room..."
"Oh...I'm sorry..."
"There's nothing to apologize, Koenma, I just love you as a
friend..." she grinned. "Let's just say I while I am talking to
you now I am watching a former ferry girl of you crying endlessly on the
park while running. She collapsed and a short man carry her along the
way..."
"You can see what is happening in Ningekai!"
"I can vision,"
~~~~~~
"Ding Dong!"
"Coming!" a girlish voice, cries.
He opened the door and his emerald eyes saw a surprise.
"Hiei-kun! Botan-chan!" he exclaimed. "Why are you both
here this late time!"
"Who is at the door, musuko?"
"Just my friends Kaasan,"
"Well a long story...Kurama-san."
"Come in..." he welcomed them in. Then a thunder clashed from
the clouds. "It's going to rain..."
~~~~~~
"If you don't love me too why did you agree to marry me?" Koenma
inquired handling a cup of green tea to her.
"This thing is hot!" she exclaimed as she touched the surface of
the cup. "What will I do with this?"
"Drink it. It taste great!"
Fearfully she tried to sip the green boiling water inside and tasted it.
"Hey this isn't half-bad, Koenma-san." she commented.
"I told you so,"
"About your question well," she paused for moment as she put
back her tea on the table. "I am about to die. The pain is killing
me. It was...it was very hot to die. The ocean it gave its compassion. It
was the most awful day of my life. Then I died..."
Koenma banged his hands on the table-board. "What?" Koenma
blurted out. "I haven't read your record in my papers!"
"He saved me," without warning she persevered. "I couldn't
forget about him. But he told me it costs a price...I need to marry his
son...that is you!" she stressed.
"Me?"
"You."
"Lord Enma saved her soul," he pondered. "Now I
understand..."
"It's nice talking with you," she grinned. "I never talked
much in my entire life..."
"I guess so," Koenma raised his eyebrows. "You're fun
too..."
~~~~~~
"Musuko," Shiori called her son.
"Yes Kaasan?"
"Please entertain your guest please," she pleasantly said.
"I'll go to the kitchen and prepare them snacks---Er...dinner!"
she left.
"Arigatou Kaasan!" Kurama waved his hand. "Okay, please
take a sit."
They all sat down.
"What are you both doing here? Are you both steady or what?"
Kurama asked.
Hiei gave him a fiery warning look. "Stop now kitsune! Or you'll get
something you don't like..."
"What are you saying, Kurama-san!" Botan position her fists.
"I will never get steady with this bratty fire rascal!"
Kurama sweat dropped. "Okay...okay sorry!"
"Who are you calling a bratty fire rascal, bubble brain?"
"I'm not a bubble brain, dimwit!"
"Yeah?"
"Yeah!" Black chi encompassed Hiei.
"Who said so?"
"I did!"
"Why you..." Botan stood up.
"Can anybody explain what is happening here?" Kurama scratched
his scarlet tresses. "Guys, calm down!"
"Right, I'm quiet," a halo appeared on Botan's head. "He
started it..."
"But she started it!" Hiei clenched his knuckles.
"Says who?"
"Says me!"
"Uh-oh," Kurama sighed worriedly. "Here we go again! Guys
STOP!"
They all calmed down.
Kurama cleared his throat. "At last were all settled...so what is
this thing all about?"
Silence.
"Well?" Kurama asked, getting a little impatient. " I am
waiting..."
Hiei turned to Botan.
"I am thrown from Reikai because I loved Koenma!" she blurted
out, burying her face on her hands. "You know...it's illegal! We
can't push through our love...so I am turned into a Ningen! I can't see
him anymore! Not ever! I love him!"
"Botan-chan calm down," Kurama suggested, patting her back.
"Hiei and I can help you in this dilemma, right?"
"Hn."
Kurama glared him.
"But we can't do a thing," she whined but she seemed more
relaxed.
"Koenma-sama," Kurama thought mindfully. "What in the world
happened?"
"Hey break time for a while children and eat," Shiori came back
with a tray of delicious goodies. Sushi, tempura, sherbets and sukiyaki,
as if there is a big feast.
Hiei instantly picked up and tasted one. "This isn't half-bad."
"Oh...thanks 'kasaan!"
Botan's deep lament caught Shiori's eye. "What's a matter young
lass?"
"I----"
She turned to her son. "Musako...what's her problem..."
"Er...let's just say she was heartbroken by a friend of us..."
She sat beside Botan. "Young girl er---"
"Botan. My name is Botan..."
"What a sweet name! A name of my one of my favorite flowers!"
"Really Minamino-san?" Botan wondered, drying up her tears.
"Yes," she nodded lovingly. "Shuuichi-chan often gives me
flowers. Actually I love them all because of their unique beauty...like
you. Love often hurts...you've experienced it, right? But come think of
it...the more we love we put in our hearts, the more blissful and
contented we become. For me love is the most heavenly thing in the whole
world..."
"Minamino-san," Botan weakly grinned. "Ku-I mean Shuuichi
maybe proud of you!"
"I am!" Kurama cut in.
Shiori wrapped her arms around Botan. "Arigatou, Botan-chan..."
"Oh brother," Hiei rolled his eyes.
They all laughed.
"Oh!" Shiori squealed. "You are a short man but you have a
lot of appetite!"
Kurama and Botan looked down to the tray.
"WHAT?! YOU'VE CONSUMED IT ALL!" Kurama and Botan screeched.
"What can I do? I haven't ate anything for days!"
"Oh my God!" Shiori stood up. "I better get more!"
"Your mom is the best!" Botan pledged.
"Of course!"
"She does great cooking too," Hiei added. *Burp! *
~~~~~~
"Both of you can sleep here," Kurama said, pointing to two
comfortable beds. "This room is really made for guest."
"Thank you, Kurama!" Botan bowed. "And please give my
appreciation to your mother..."
"Arigatou!" Kurama yawned; his eyes are now half-opened. "Oyasumi
nasai! Ja!" he waved his hand.
Botan noticed a sharp pocketknife on the table and picked it. "Kurama-chan!
"What?"
"What's this?" she asked holding the knife.
"That is just a pocketknife," he chuckled. "It maybe small
but lethal. Ja ne!"
"Konbanwa, Hiei-kun!"
"Hn." his eyes widen, looking at the bed back and forth.
Botan noticed him. "What are you doing, Hiei-kun?"
"Stupid ningen, how to use this?" he raised his eyebrows.
"Oh brother!" Botan rolled her eyes. "Even an oni knows how
to use that!"
"How?"
"Just lie down your body."
Hiei jumped off to bed without removing his shoes. "Then?"
"You forgot to remove your shoes!" Botan giggled.
He let them fly them into the distance.
"There you can go to sleep," Botan said.
Hiei snoozed to his deep slumber.
"Good night," Botan whispered.
She then removed her ponytail leaving her hair softly flowing without
encumbrance on the air. Opening the windows, she stared at the small
gleaming silver celestial bodies.
This night seemed
forever
Until we find each other
Dearest I know I'll found you again
Even though time doesn't tell when
Maybe we are wishing on the same star
Dreams do come true I know
I know my love you are very far
Nevertheless our heart joins us
~~~~~~
Koenma with Princess Marine stared lovingly on the stars too from a tower
from Reikai.
"What are those sparkling little lights, Koenma-sama?" she
asked.
"Those are stars," he quickly answered. "They are
wonderful, aren't they?"
"Yes they are!" she exclaimed. "I never saw such wonderful
light..."
"They are always there at night...except when there is rain. How come
you didn't see it?"
"At night, all fishes and other sea creatures tried to hide under the
water," she explained, leaning closer to Koenma. "We are afraid
to be captured by ningens..."
"What's wrong with this girl?" Koenma asked himself, swallowed
eagerly. "She seemed she don't want to get off my side. Can't it be
that she loved me already?" he vigorously shook his head. "It
can't be!"
Marine stared at him affectionately. "You know Koenma-sama, you're
not bad for a husband-to-be..."
Koenma choked down; butterflies entered his stomach again.
"Really?"
She leaned nearer to him again. "Now that I knew you...I think liked
you already, Koenma-sama," she sheepishly uttered, her pale cheeks
turned crimson.
"Don't you think things are going fast, Marine-sama?" Koenma
gulped again, a forced smile drew to his face as he tried to shove her
away. "You have just met me today!"
"Yes," she sighed. "But I feel I knew you for a
lifetime..." he held Koenma's arms and wrapped around her torso.
"You are so fervent!"
Koenma didn't do anything but to stare away from her. "Oh, Botan...where
are you now?"
This night is
notably cursed
Spending it with someone I barely knew
I know it could be worst
Because my sweet flower is gone
Maybe I'll just dream of you tonight
And in my dream I'll touch you again
Darling, please held me tight
Despite it's a dream
And the two lovers just
sadly stare at the stars...not knowing what shall happen to them.
